The Story Behind VEMOD
VEMOD began long before it became a brand.
From an early age, I was surrounded by people for whom creating was a way of life. My grandmother was a dressmaker throughout her life, creating coats, tailored suits, and other garments to order. My father spent his life creating made-to-measure footwear for the runway.
I grew up surrounded by fabrics, leather, patterns, and tools. Scissors have been in my hands for as long as I can remember.
My father taught me to notice what often goes unseen: the precision of a detail, the rightness of a proportion, the balance of a form, and the quality of execution. He showed me how a single line can transform a silhouette, and how the smallest detail can influence the whole.
I have always been drawn to this attention to detail. In my family, quality was never simply a standard — it was a way of working, a way of seeing. I was taught to choose carefully, to respect materials, to understand proportion, and to refine every detail until it felt right.
Alongside my grandmother, I developed a deep appreciation for fabric, silhouette, and the process of creating clothing.
Architecture
After graduating from art school, I chose to study architecture. Architecture became my profession, but clothing never left my life.
Throughout my studies, I continued to sketch garments and bring my ideas to life in ateliers. I was interested not only in how a garment looked, but in how it was constructed.
Ten years of working in architecture and design shaped the way I see form and space. I learned to understand the relationship between proportion, structure, material, and detail — and how their interaction creates a sense of wholeness.
Over time, I realised that I approached clothing in much the same way I approached architecture: as a form that exists in space, moves with the body, and interacts with the woman who wears it.
The years of waiting
For many years, I dreamed of creating my own brand. But each time, I put the idea aside.
There always seemed to be a reason to wait. Circumstances changed, new responsibilities emerged, and life moved forward. Yet the idea remained with me — in my sketches, my thoughts, and in the quiet desire to one day create the clothing I myself wanted to wear.
Clothing has always been a way for me to express who I am. Through it, I could express my individuality, my mood, and my own perspective. It gave me the freedom to shape my image and choose how I wanted to feel.
Over time, I found it increasingly difficult to find clothing that brought together everything that mattered to me: precise tailoring, considered proportions, beautiful materials, comfort, and a sense of completeness.
I wanted something different. Not to create more, but to create with greater intention. Not to follow every trend, but to create pieces that remain relevant over time. Not to produce for the sake of quantity, but to focus on what truly matters: how a garment is constructed, how it fits, how it moves with the body, the materials it is made from, and every detail that completes it.
My grandmother
My grandmother had been waiting a long time for me to finally commit myself fully to creating clothing. She believed in it before I allowed myself to.
She passed away before she could see VEMOD come to life. It was painful to know that she would never see what I had eventually created.
But with time, I began to feel another kind of connection. VEMOD became a continuation of the part of her world that she passed on to me. Her love of creating. Her respect for materials. Her attention to detail. Her understanding of quality. All of it remained with me, and continues through VEMOD.
Her passing reminded me of something simple: life cannot be postponed. Ideas are meant to be brought to life. Dreams are meant to be pursued. And what you truly love is worth choosing.
VEMOD became my decision to stop waiting.
Two worlds
And so VEMOD was born — at the intersection of the two worlds that have shaped me: architecture and the art of creating clothing.
From architecture came my understanding of form, proportion, structure, and space. From my family came craftsmanship, respect for materials, attention to detail, and an appreciation for quality. And from me came the desire for freedom, individuality, and the belief that clothing should ultimately serve the woman who wears it.
Today, VEMOD is a reflection of my world. A world that existed for a long time only in my thoughts, sketches, and imagination. A world I finally chose to share.
VEMOD is my world, created from everything that has always been a part of me.
